January Buddy Beat

All things BBDE

Happy New Year! ๐ŸŽ‰ We hope your holidays were filled with joy and good company. We're kicking off 2024 with a mini version of our beloved Buddy Beat โ€“ a quick catch-up as we ease back into the swing of things. While our regular newsletter and events will be back in full swing come February, we couldn't resist sharing some highlights from 2023. Additionally, we've got a few exciting dates for your calendars in 2024 that you won't want to miss! Get ready for a year filled with friendship, fun, and unforgettable experiences.

Wishing you all the best for an incredible year ahead!

As we set goals for 2024, itโ€™s so important that we share all of the incredible accomplishments of 2023 that are a direct reflection of your support. Our programs currently serve over 1,400 participants and impacts over 10,000 people in our community.

In total, we have chapters in 31 schools, spread out throughout all three counties. In 2023 alone, we expanded our school chapters by opening NINE new schools.

Three elementary schools, five middle schools, and one high school. This resulted in 130 new student participants.

Our school chapters held 145 inclusive events for individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. Between our adult Citizens chapter and our Bank of America Citizens chapter, there were 42 inclusive events in 2023 for our adult participants.

Our community showed up and showed out to make this growth possible. Between our Friendship Walk, Champion of the Year Gala and general donations, we worked together to raise over $75,000 for Best Buddies Delaware.

All of the events, school chapters, participants, matches, and everything we do would not be possible without YOU. All of this to say, thank you so much for your support & we can't wait to see all that's to come in 2024.

We are looking for volunteers for our Friendship Walk on April 27th! If you are interested in volunteering, please email Ellie at [email protected]
