_{Its BEST BUDDIES MONTH!}

What started in 1993 as a one-day event has become a month-long celebration promoting one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This month, join us as we celebrate the achievements of our participants and supporters, and continue to expand our mission globally.

We are just two months away from our annual Friendship Walk! Join us this year on May 6th at Frawley Stadium from 9am-12pm to celebrate Best Buddies Delaware. Bring your friends and family, create a walk team, and join the party! It’s completely free to register - but there are some amazing incentives for fundraising (including our infamous Friendship Walk T-Shirt if you raise $50.) All funds raised will go directly towards creating more inclusive opportunities for those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Delaware.

Big thank you to everyone who attended our Back to Best Buddies training in February - it was wonderful to collaborate with student leaders, advisors, and members of our community programs - Here is a brief overview of what we discussed but please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Student Leadership: Next years Leadership should be decided and in BB360 by April 15th. Our Annual Leadership Conference is July 21-24th, we would love for all current and future student leaders to attend. ($350 registration fee per student + cost of travel to Indiana) More information on Leadership Conference will be sent out soon - but the first step is determining next years leaders!

Friendship Walk: Our Annual Friendship Walk is at Frawley Stadium on May 6th from 9am-12pm. We would LOVE for all of our school programs to be represented so please create a school team, invite your friends and family and come celebrate Best Buddies with us! EVERYONE is invited!

Matches. Memberships. Events & All things BB360: It is so important to Best Buddies that we have accurate data in BB360 - this helps us to open more schools create more opportunities for those with IDD in Delaware. Please get matches selected in BB360, encourage your members to get memberships in, and upload events. I am always able to help with putting matches and events in the system so please reach out!!

One of our very own participants Joshua Felder (far right) is staring in the new movie Champions with Woody Harrelson - In theaters March 10th. The movie is FANTASTIC and we encourage everyone to see it (keep in mind the PG-13 rating!) We plan on doing a group movie event - stay tuned for more info!
